Reporting Strategy
I plan to “tweet” daily position reports as Internet connectivity allows (Twitter access is limited to those whom I have approved). I’ll post a few snapshots at the same time, but most likely they’ll be totally devoid of any interesting scenery (unless you’re interested in I10 and maybe some Walmarts and campgrounds). But I hope that I can grab some pictures to illustrate the various aspects of the long road trek from Florida to California and then a few pictures to pique your interest about our explorations of Death Valley.
Then as time permits after our visit to the lowest and hottest place in the USA, I’ll put up some pictures and commentary to illustrate our meanderings in the canyons, craters, mountain ranges, salt flats, mines, ghost towns, sand dunes, etc. I’ll announce each posting on Twitter.
Our travel team will be using a “bumper-pull” travel trailer and a “fifth-wheel” trailer so we might have an opportunity to compare and contrast the challenges and rewards the two types of campers. In addition, one truck is gasoline-powered while the other is a diesel. Again, we might be able to report some interesting pro’s and con’s based on real experience. For that matter, the degree of consonance between prevailing wisdom and our own experiences could be interesting.
If we gain any practical insights into the hiking and camping equipment that we use, we’ll put those up along with everything else.
Stay tuned. Check in once in awhile or follow us on Twitter to receive notifications whenever we post some new pictures (click the link on the right of the home page to go directly to my Twitter page so you can click “follow” there).
Here’s where we’ve been so far with our RVs:
